The Mortimore Prize

This annual competition for realist art over landscape, waterscape, portraiture, still life, drawing and sculpture, attracts entries from top Australian artists.  This year, for example, the winner of the Portrait Section was also a finalist in the 2009 Archibald Prize. Hong Fu's Fiona is a masterful example of technique and artistic expression.

The Mortimore Prize is judged and exhibited in Dubbo each October.  It then travels to Sydney for display and on to Bungendore, its final exhibition post each year.  This exhibition will run from 26 Nov - to 24 Dec.

This year KIKU ARTs is also lucky enough to have three works by the Central West artist after whom this competition is named.  Peter Mortimore has one painting, one drawing and one sculpture on display and sale during the Mortimore Prize exhibition.
